The short version

DevCruft is a Mac app that is still being built; nothing is available to download or buy yet. This site is a blog and a waitlist. We collect your email address only if you join the waitlist, and we use analytics only if you accept cookies. We don’t sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.

The waitlist

What we store. When you join, we store the email address you enter, the language of the page, the page you signed up from, and the time. Nothing else is attached: no name, no IP address, no cookie.

What we use it for. To email you when DevCruft launches. We may also send an occasional short update about the launch if it is significantly delayed. We will not add you to any other list, and every email we send will tell you how to be removed.

Legal basis. Your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hello@devcruft.com, and we will delete your entry.

Where it is kept. On our own server, hosted by Railway. When we send the launch email we may use an email delivery provider, which receives your address only to deliver that email.

Analytics, only if you agree

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people read. It is off until you click Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you click Decline, no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) that last up to two years, and your browser sends page views, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser details, and whether you joined the waitlist (not your email address) to Google, which may process them outside your country. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, ad personalisation and Google signals are turned off.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. Declining there stops analytics and deletes the _ga cookies. Your choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and never leaves your device.

If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@devcruft.com and we will act within 30 days.

Retention

Waitlist entries are kept until we send the launch email, and deleted within twelve months after that, or sooner if you ask. If DevCruft is abandoned instead, we will delete the list. Support email is kept for two years. Google Analytics data is retained for the shortest period Google Analytics offers (two months), and the reports built from it are aggregate.

Changes

When the app launches this policy will be updated to cover it. If it changes materially, the date at the top changes. Questions: hello@devcruft.com.
